11/13/2023 0 Comments Elf concealer shades hydratingI experienced similar– yet very very subtle– creasing under the eyes as with the original (you can see a comparison in the video at the top of the page). Unlike the original which claims 16 hours of wear, this concealer doesn’t have a specific wear time claim beyond “all day.” I would say that is true, at least for an 8-10 hour day. Even without setting, the concealer doesn’t feel tacky or slippy. You still get the amazing full coverage as the original formula, with a slightly radiant (but definitely NOT dewy) finish that dries down do the touch. I think the texture also lends to needing less product as it spreads much easier. The new Hydrating Camo Concealer has a creamy consistency and is easier to blend out than the original, because you have extra time before it completely sets. There’s a pretty big difference! On the left, I have the Hydrating Camo Concealer in the shade Light Beige which ended up being a better match than the other two. Above, you can see that I swatch the original 16 Hour Camo Concealer in Medium Peach (middle) next to the new Hydrating Camo Concealer in Medium Peach (right). With that said, it’s important to note that the shades between the two lines do not match up. The matte Camo Concealer changes shades drastically after you apply it, while the new formula dries true to the color you see the bottle. I was stoked! Aside from the new finish, this version is supposed to have addressed the oxidizing issue that caused many complaints with the original. announced the new Hydrating Camo Concealer, featuring the same lightweight full coverage but in a hydrating, satin-finish formula. And so, the matte Camo Concealer went unused for several months. Come winter, however, I was shying away from my matte finishes and embracing more radiant makeup to balance out my dry skin. I had never experienced a concealer that could last almost crease-free on me all day, so this was a game changer. 16 HR Camo Concealer, my makeup routine was taken up a notch. My under eyes are very dry and matte concealers just don’t work for me.When I discovered the e.l.f. The matte versions are just not for my skin type at all. I have issues with creasing under my eyes and this one does really well minimizing that. I would compare it to Kosas Revealer Super Creamy and Brightening Concealer but Elf has a little better staying power for me. I consistently reach for it (though I do wish it was fairer) over higher end formulas because it is just that good. I had such a hard time finding my shade in these formulas (which is mostly due to the fact that it took me a long time to really understand my undertone) so I thought I would share all the ones I have if anyone is looking for real life swatches to help them decide.
